Classical hatha yoga in Sivananda Yoga tradition
The practice of traditional classical yoga is a quiet journey that empowers the individual to rediscover the innate peace and bliss already within.
To begin, one does not need to be strong or flexible.
One only needs an open mind to start and stay curious.
No one is too inflexible or too weak to start experiencing the benefits of yoga practice.
In a Sivananda Yoga class, you will practise physical postures, breath work and relaxation. Coupled with a proper diet and positive thinking, these are the five principles that form the foundation of the Sivananda Yoga practice.
Through regular practice, one gains an indirect control of the mind, experiencing more awareness, calm and inner peace.
What is Sivananda Yoga?
Sivananda Yoga asana practice, as taught by Swami Vishnudevananda, relies on a core sequence that includes a balanced set of 12 postures followed in a prescribed order, interspersed with periodic relaxation poses, such as Savasana (Corpse Pose).
Each asana either augments or counterbalances the preceding one. A Sivananda Yoga practice also includes pranayama and opening and closing relaxations. The practice’s intention is to cultivate a meditative mental state that evolves into higher awareness and eventually to experience the innate truth of being.
What you can expect from a regular Sivananda Yoga class:
- Emphasis on breath
- Emphasis on the state of mind and relaxation
- Relaxation between postures
- Focus on holding the postures
- Sanskrit and mantra chanting from the teacher

Workplace Wellness Yoga
The workplace is a great place to introduce yoga to your staff, as it can promote more body and mind awareness in a work setting. As someone who was also in a corporate career before, I deeply appreciate what yoga can bring to the workplace and I believe a regular yoga practice is one of the best ways to improve the wellbeing of your team.
Fees:
Based on your company's preference, I'll be happy to discuss different packages to suit. Please email me for more details.
Private Yoga
If you'd like to practice in a more intimate setting, this is the class for you. I will work with you and tailor the class to suit your needs. This is an effective way to learn how to adapt your body to any yoga poses, based on your unique conditions.
Some of the previous students' reasons for choosing a private class:
- Comfort in raising personal questions regarding yoga postures and practice
- Anxiety being in a group class
- Unique circumstance such as body recovering from cancer treatment
- Personal physical challenges such as flat foot
- Inconvenience in attending group class, e.g. need to be constantly on call and cannot turn off the phone, irregular work schedule
If you are unsure, I'll love to have a chat with you to find out what your needs are.
Fees:
Ranging from $120 - $140, depending on duration of class and location.
For small private group, please contact me for further details.

Students share their experiences
"The yoga classes are always something to look forward to. Lipeng is attentive to all the details in every breath and tailors her guidance to help me achieve every pose, and stretch to my fullest!"
- Jun"I enjoy how Lipeng explains the essence of each pose and allows one to fully internalise them. It is about self awareness, learning and improvement. Lipeng often takes the extra step to teach us the alternative poses that better suit our bodies. In that way, we get to enjoy the poses within our own limits."
- Weiling"Lipeng took time to fully understand our needs and requirement. She explained the movement well and broke them into small and achievable steps. We gained great improvement in our balance and flexibility which were our goals in taking the class."
